Maj 13, 2002.

February 18, 1999. Chematur Engineering AB acquires world-wide
"Supercritical rights"
Chematur Engineering, which is a wholly owned engineering group
of Investment AB Bure, has acquired the exclusive world wide
rights to Supercritical Water Oxidation (SCWO) technology from Eco
Waste Technologies in the USA.
Supercritical Water Oxidation technology is one of the most
advanced technologies for destruction of organic waste. At a
temperature above 374 °C and a pressure above 221 bar, organic
compounds will rapidly be decomposed into harmless substances as
carbon dioxide and water with destruction efficiency exceeding
99.9 %.
Chematur Engineering has already built a demonstration facility in
Karlskoga where the efficiency of the process can be proven with
actual waste waters from various clients in the world
Due to the very high degree of decomposition the SCWO technology
is forecasted to be one of the most valuable technologies for the
treatment of hazardous organic wastes in the future.
Chematur Engineering comprises operating engineering companies in
Sweden, Finland, Germany and the USA with its main sales outside
Sweden and with over 1000 installations world wide. The group
annual turnover is more than half a billion SEK.

Chematur Ecoplanning Oy in Finland has recently received an
order for a supercritical pilot unit to the Finnish Agriculture
Research Institute. This pilot is the third similar unit
delivered.
Xtractor 500/35® is suitable for different supercritical process
testing and research purposes. The pressure range is up to 500 bar
and the carbon dioxide loop has a flow of 35 kg/hour. The pilot
unit is very versatile and can be equipped with variable sizes of
extraction chambers. The pilot is built in compact skid mounted
frame which easily can be connected to the electrical net, cooling
water and carbon dioxide systems. The size of the unit is 3000 x
800 x 1800 mm and the weight about 800 kgs.
Supercritical Technology is an expanding field for solving
chemical extraction processes without using organic - like
chlorinated - solvents. The trend to use harmless CO2 as a solvent
is increasing in the pharmaceutical as well as food industries.
Chematur Ecoplanning Oy has since 1993 developed this technology,
designing and constructing several units for different
applications. The latest full scale aroma extraction plant was
commissioned in Northern Finland in the beginning of 1999.

September 7, 1998. Nya etanolkontrakt för Chematur
Engineering koncernen

March 31, 1998. New aeration system has been inroduced
When substrates such as molasses, starch hydrolysates,
cellulose hydrolysates etc. are fermented to give ethanol, an
equivalent amount of carbon dioxide is formed. Due to the
necessity of adding oxygen to the fermenter during part or whole
of the fermentetion cycle, air is normally added in the fermenter
vessel. The carbon dioxide gets mixed with air, and a recovery of
the carbon will be more costly.
Together with our Biostil licensee in India, Messrs Alfa Laval
(India) Ltd, a revised aeration system has been successfully
introduced in one of the ethanol plants in India, whereby the
required oxygen is added by aeration of the substrate before it
enters the main fermenter. In this way carbon dioxide is recovered
in a very pure form, and more than 90% of theoretical amounts.
The new system can be adapted to any fermentation, and can be
using air, oxygen-enriched air, or oxygen, accordnig to
availability and cost.

February 3, 1998. Inauguration of environmental Center
Chematur Engineering AB inaugurates its Environmental Center in
Karlskoga on Thursday February 5, 1998. The Center which will be
Chematur Engineering Group's development base for environmentally

great number of interesting technologies. The work will mainly be
concentrated on the unique processes for supercritical water
oxidation and supercritical CO2 extraction, where high-toxic
chemical wastes are destructed in a safe way without emitting any
toxic by-products. The Center will also have units for advanced
water treatment and electro-chemical treatment.
The Center will be used to tailor-make solutions within the area
of environmental protection and may be used for practically all
possible liquid wastes.
